Dr. Hansen received his PhD from the University of Kansas.
Dr. Hansen's research interests are broadly related to meaning making and the methods to inquire into those meanings. Research topics
include ethnonarrative methods, organizational culture, storytelling, aesthetics and abductive inquiry. His research articles have been
published in the Journal of Management Studies, Human Relations, Organization Studies, and the Journal of Management Inquiry. He is
co-editor of the Sage Handbook of New and Emerging Approaches to Management and Organizations. Dr. Hansen teaches Organizational Theory,
Organizational Creativity and Change, and Organizational Behavior. He also conducts creativity workshops for various companies and executive
programs. Dr. Hansen has held positions at the Kellogg School of Management, Stanford University, Copenhagen Business School, and Victoria
University in New Zealand.
